AlertD is a San Francisco Bay Area startup reimagining how engineering teams operate and observe their cloud infrastructure. The company builds specialized AI agents for site reliability engineering and DevOps that let teams interrogate their systems — particularly on AWS — through natural language rather than dashboards and queries.

The core idea is to reduce the operational toil that consumes SRE and DevOps time. AlertD's agents instantly surface AWS insights, answering questions about system state, performance, and incidents while providing verifiable visibility into why the agent reached its conclusions. This transparency into agent reasoning is a deliberate design choice in a domain where engineers must trust automation before acting on it during incidents.

AlertD's platform is built with enterprise operational realities in mind. It supports secure VPC deployment options so sensitive infrastructure data stays within an organization's boundary, offers flexibility in choice of LLM provider, and includes collaborative workflows for sharing queries and insights across a team. Advanced AWS search features let engineers navigate complex cloud environments quickly, turning what used to be multi-tool investigations into conversational queries.

The company is the work of seasoned founders Geoff Hendrey and Freddy Mangum, who built AlertD to redefine cloud operations with agents that combine speed with accountability. It is supported by the Stanford incubator StartX, Amazon Web Services, and Meta's Llama program, reflecting both academic and ecosystem backing.

AlertD emerged from stealth in November 2025 alongside a $3 million pre-seed round led by True Ventures partner Puneet Agarwal. With this funding, the company is building out its agentic SRE and DevOps platform as enterprises increasingly look to AI to manage the growing complexity of cloud operations.
