ValidMind is a model risk management (MRM) and AI governance platform built for regulated financial institutions. It automates the labor-intensive parts of model documentation, testing, and validation that banks must perform to satisfy regulatory requirements such as SR 11-7 and emerging AI governance rules.

As banks expand their use of AI and machine learning, they face mounting pressure to prove their models are well-documented, tested, and governed. ValidMind's platform standardizes and accelerates validation workflows, creating audit-ready evidence and transparency for risk and compliance teams as well as third-party model vendors.

In March 2024, ValidMind secured $8.1M in seed funding led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Third Prime, AI Fund, FJ Labs, New York Life Ventures, Notion Capital, Angel Invest Ventures, and Gaingels, bringing total funding to roughly $11.1M. Point72 partner Tripp Shriner joined the board.

ValidMind serves model risk management, validation, and compliance teams at banks, insurers, and other financial institutions. It later launched the ValidMind Advantage Program to extend transparency to third-party AI model vendors.

The company operates at the intersection of AI governance and financial-services compliance, a category drawing larger checks as regulators scrutinize enterprise AI adoption.
