Ubotica Technologies is a Dublin-based space technology company pioneering what it calls Orbital AI: running machine learning inference on board spacecraft rather than downlinking raw imagery for processing on the ground. The company says it has run hundreds of thousands of AI inferences in orbit and deployed more than 30 Earth observation models across multiple missions. Working with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the European Space Agency, it delivered the first spacecraft to autonomously identify a target ahead and reorient itself to capture it. Its commercial Live Maritime Intelligence platform combines on-orbit inference with autonomous ground-to-orbit tasking to continuously identify areas of elevated maritime risk, supporting monitoring of undersea cables, offshore energy assets, pipelines and shipping routes, and detection of dark vessels and shadow fleets.
Funding
Ubotica announced an $11 million funding round on 23 June 2026, led by Act Venture Capital and Greencode Ventures with participation from existing investor Atlantic Bridge. The capital is earmarked for the commercial rollout of Live Maritime Intelligence.
