The product lets brands replicate the marketing flows they would normally run over SMS or email, but native to social DMs. When a customer comments on a TikTok or messages on Instagram, Pinpoint can instantly reply with a relevant product recommendation, capture audience data for segmentation, track the resulting purchase, and re-engage that customer later with tailored offers. It also handles customer support within DMs, consolidating conversion and service into one conversational channel.
This approach addresses a real gap: brands have built enormous social followings but struggle to convert them, because the journey from a viral post to a tracked sale is fragmented and leaky. By integrating social audiences directly into the broader marketing funnel without forcing users off-platform, Pinpoint aims to recover revenue that traditionally vanishes between social attention and checkout. Pinpoint raised $2.5 million in seed funding, co-led by Phoenix Capital Ventures and the British internet collective The Sidemen via Upside Ventures, with participation from Antler, Bulletpitch+, and executives from Spotify, Raine Group, Google, and Twilio, along with creator-management figures. Since launching its beta, the company reports adoption by more than 100 brands representing a combined social following exceeding 500 million, with some seeing revenue increases of up to roughly 30 percent.
For consumer brands and creators sitting on large but under-monetized social audiences, Pinpoint offers infrastructure to convert and retain customers in the DM channel. Its differentiation is operating natively inside Instagram and TikTok messaging, combining commerce flows, data capture, and support in a single AI-driven social layer.
