A distinctive part of Hypeo's strategy is its work in AI-powered virtual influencers. The company created Kenza Layli, an AI creator who amassed hundreds of thousands of followers and won the inaugural Miss AI 2024 competition, demonstrating Hypeo's ability to build and monetize synthetic personas alongside human creators. Hypeo AI was founded in 2024 by Meriam Bessa (CEO), Oussama Sekkat (CTO), and Salah Eddine Mimouni (COO), and is based between Casablanca and New York. It secured strategic investment from pan-African investor Renew Capital, along with Madica and Digital Africa, to scale platform development, onboard creators and brands across MENA, and expand toward a consumer-facing AI coaching companion. The amount was undisclosed but the round drew reputable named investors focused on African and emerging-market technology.
