Buildcheck is an AI construction design review platform founded at Stanford University. Its computer-vision and language-model system analyses 2D construction drawings and specifications across architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing disciplines, running hundreds of automated checks to detect errors, omissions, coordination conflicts and clashes before a project reaches permit, pricing or the field. Users upload drawings to a secure web application and receive findings marked up directly on the drawings, prioritised by severity and grouped so duplicate instances collapse together, with analytics and task assignment for close-out. Named customers include AvalonBay Communities, Novo Construction, BXP, Fitzrovia, Alta Housing and UBC Properties Trust.

Funding

Buildcheck raised a $5.9 million seed round announced on 9 December 2025, led by Uncork Capital with participation from Peterson Ventures and Xfund, plus angel investment from founders and senior executives at OpenAI, Opendoor, CBRE and Zillow.
