Animaj was founded in Paris in 2022 by Sixte de Vauplane with a thesis that kids' entertainment franchises can be built and scaled far faster with AI. The company acquires beloved IP — including Pocoyo and Maya the Bee — and grows it across YouTube, streaming, apps, music and consumer products, reaching 22 billion+ annual YouTube views and 243 million subscribers across its channels.
Technology
Animaj Lab builds proprietary creator-directed AI tools: Sketch-to-Motion turns artist drawings into animation-ready motion, PoseBind accelerates character rigging and animation, and Audience Intelligence mines billions of signals from the made-for-kids ecosystem to spot trends and gaps before commissioning content. The pitch is Pixar-quality output at a fraction of traditional cost and time.
Funding
Animaj has raised about $192 million across five rounds, including a €100M round and an $85M round announced in June 2025 led by Bpifrance and HarbourView Equity Partners. With offices in Paris, London and Madrid, it is one of Europe's best-funded AI media companies and a genuine challenger model to legacy kids' studios.
