UneeQ was founded in 2010 by New Zealand entrepreneur Danny Tomsett (originally as FaceMe) and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. After more than a decade of R&D, it focuses on two enterprise plays: an immersive training platform where employees practice difficult conversations with lifelike AI roleplay partners, and a digital brand agency that creates AI ambassadors for websites, social media and events.

Technology

UneeQ's stack combines its Synanim animation engine with LLM orchestration for autonomous, emotionally intelligent interactions — no VR headsets required. Deployments include Sama, Qatar Airways' AI cabin crew member with hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, and Emma, the City of Amarillo's citizen-service assistant credited with 98% satisfaction. The platform is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant and can run on-premise or in the cloud.

Business

UneeQ has raised about $10 million from investors including Alium Capital, and serves enterprise clients such as Deutsche Telekom, PwC, Deloitte, Vodafone and the Saudi Tourism Authority. Pricing is enterprise-only via demo, positioning UneeQ against Soul Machines in the high-end digital human market.
