RIIICO is a German deep-tech startup that digitalizes existing brownfield factories by automatically converting LiDAR scans into precise 3D digital twins. Its AI detects machines, equipment and building infrastructure within the scan, then lets engineers redesign layouts and plan production changes 'like building with LEGO bricks'. The company says this makes process redesign about four times faster and accelerates new-product launches. Founded in 2021 at RWTH Aachen by Patrick Mertens, Jan Buechsenschuetz and Felix Fink, RIIICO raised a $5M (EUR 4.3M) seed round in June 2025 led by Pi Labs with backing from Earlybird Venture Capital and the Volvo Cars Tech Fund.
