Resurrect Bio is an agricultural biotech developing gene-edited disease resistance by reactivating cryptic resistance genes already latent in elite crop germplasm, rather than inserting foreign DNA. Three stacked platforms drive the work: FloraFold AI, an in-silico discovery engine that predicts plant-pathogen protein interactions; a high-throughput functional biology platform that validates those predictions in living plants; and the Resurrection platform that reactivates the dormant resistance mechanisms. The company claims trait discovery up to five times faster than traditional methods, with traits containing as few as one DNA change, which also carries regulatory advantages. It engages seed companies and breeders through joint development agreements and spun out of The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich.
