Lumi AI was founded to bring agentic, self-service analytics to operationally complex businesses, particularly brands, retailers, and supply chain organizations whose critical data lives trapped inside ERPs and warehouses. For these companies, getting answers often means waiting days for an analyst to pull a report, by which time the opportunity, a stockout, a margin leak, a demand shift, may already have passed. Lumi's mission is to put a conversational data analyst in the hands of every business user.

The platform connects to enterprise data sources including databases, cloud data warehouses, and ERP systems, then uses an automated capability the company calls the 'Magic Wand' to generate a semantic layer mapping the company's data model. With that foundation in place, business users can ask questions in plain language and Lumi explores the data, generates visualizations, and returns tailored insights without anyone writing SQL. This semantic-layer-first approach helps ensure that conversational answers reflect the organization's real metrics and relationships.

Beyond reactive question-answering, Lumi emphasizes agentic workflows: the platform can autonomously analyze data against defined business objectives and proactively surface optimization opportunities in supply chain, sales, and operations, rather than waiting to be asked. The company reports that customers have identified large amounts of value-driving insight through the platform, often finding meaningful opportunities within their first weeks of use.

Lumi AI closed a $3.7 million seed round in March 2025 led by AgFunder, with participation from Forum Ventures, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ, and the Qora71 syndicate. Customers include Kroger, Chalhoub Group, and Growmark. Lumi competes in the AI analytics space with a sharp focus on retail, consumer brands, and supply chain operations, differentiating through automated semantic modeling and proactive, agentic insight generation.
