Procode AI is a healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) company focused on private-practice surgeons and specialty providers. Its core product, Coding Copilot, acts as an autonomous translator that reads complex surgical operative reports and instantly maps them to the correct billing and diagnostic codes, enabling medical coders to work dramatically faster with higher accuracy.

Rather than the typical roll-up playbook of buy-then-build, Procode took a build-then-buy approach: it developed its AI coding technology first, then acquired The Auctus Group, an established RCM company serving more than 300 plastic surgery and dermatology providers, to deploy the technology against a real book of business. The company reported adding $2M of ARR within five months of the acquisition.

Procode AI launched from stealth in 2026 with $4M in seed funding led by Story Ventures, with participation from CHAP Health Ventures, Progression Fund, and Dmitry Shevelenko (Perplexity's Chief Business Officer). The capital and acquisition together let the company immediately serve surgical practices with AI-native billing.

Founded in 2024 by Jeff Cripe, Kameron Rezzadeh, MD (a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon), and engineer James Baez-Silva, Procode AI targets the large, fragmented outsourced medical billing market with automation built specifically for surgical coding complexity.
