What is Ohai.ai?
Ohai.ai is an AI-powered household assistant, 'O', designed to reduce the mental load carried by parents and 'Chief Household Officers.' Users text or talk to O to manage family calendars, coordinate schedules across household members, build shared to-do and grocery lists, plan meals, and set reminders. O can scan emails, PDFs, and school newsletters to automatically extract dates and deadlines and drop them onto the family calendar.
Who's behind it
Ohai.ai was founded in late 2023 by Sheila Lirio Marcelo, the founder and former CEO of Care.com — which she took public before its acquisition — along with co-founders Kevin Yang and Lauren Tornow. It launched publicly in January 2024. The product blends AI automation with human review for complex tasks and pledges never to sell user data for advertising. It has been covered by the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, TIME, and Axios.
Funding and pricing
The company raised a $6M seed round co-led by Eniac Ventures and LifeX Ventures, followed by an August 2025 strategic round led by Muse Capital with backers including Olivia Munn, Mindy Kaling, and Abby Wambach. Ohai offers a free tier, with premium family plans starting around $9.99/month.
