Mirelo is a Berlin generative-audio company solving one of generative video's biggest gaps: AI-produced video is silent. Founded in 2023 by CEO CJ Simon-Gabriel and co-founder Florian Wenzel, Mirelo trains models that interpret video content and automatically generate and synchronize matching sound effects, so creators do not have to manually source and time audio.
The company's flagship is the Mirelo SFX model line, with version 1.5 available to developers through the Fal.ai and Replicate API marketplaces. Beyond sound effects, Mirelo is extending into AI music generation and is building Mirelo Studio, a creator-focused workspace that packages its models into a usable end-to-end product for video creators.
In December 2025 Mirelo raised a $41 million seed round co-led by Index Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, with Atlantic Ventures and notable angels including Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch, Hugging Face chief science officer Thomas Wolf, and Fal.ai co-founder Burkay Gur. Total funding reached about $44 million, and the company said its valuation rose very significantly from its pre-seed round.
Mirelo sits at the intersection of AI video and AI audio, providing the sonic layer that makes generated video usable. Its API-first distribution through Fal.ai and Replicate gives it immediate reach among AI builders, while Mirelo Studio aims to capture creators directly. As generative video scales, automated, synced audio is becoming an essential complementary technology.
