Manychat, founded in 2015 by Mikael Yan and Anton Gorin, is a chat marketing automation platform headquartered in San Francisco. It enables creators, ecommerce businesses, and agencies to build automated conversational flows across Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and SMS. With a visual flow builder, businesses automate replies, comment-to-DM triggers, lead capture, abandoned-cart recovery, and sales conversations without code.
The platform is used by more than one million businesses and creators across over 170 countries. Manychat has increasingly added AI agents and AI-assisted responses to handle more complex conversations and qualify leads automatically across messaging channels.
Funding
Manychat raised an $18M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners in 2019. In April 2025 it announced a $140M growth round led by Summit Partners to expand its AI agent capabilities, bringing total funding to over $160M. The platform operates on a freemium model, with a free tier and paid plans that unlock advanced automation, channels, and AI features.
