Govstream.ai is a Seattle-based startup, founded in 2024, that sells AI-native permitting technology to local public agencies to help cities move faster on housing development. The company is building what it calls a 'new language for permitting' that relieves pressure on staff, reduces wait times and offers more predictable paths to approval for applicants. In December 2025 Govstream.ai raised a $3.6M seed round led by California-based 47th Street Partners, with participation from Nellore Capital, Ascend, and govtech veterans Kevin Merritt and Andreas Huber, bringing total funding to $4.9M since launch.
