Fyllo is a precision agriculture company helping Indian farmers make better decisions through field-level data and machine learning. Its core product is an IoT device equipped with multiple on-field sensors that continuously collect data from the soil, crop canopy, and surrounding environment. This real-time, hyperlocal data is the foundation for Fyllo's analytics, which translate raw measurements into clear, actionable guidance.
Machine learning algorithms analyze the sensor data to generate recommendations on irrigation, fertigation, and disease and pest risk, which are delivered to farmers through a mobile app. Importantly, the app supports all major Indian languages, lowering the barrier to adoption for farmers across different regions. By focusing on high-value horticulture and similar crops, Fyllo targets growers for whom precise water and nutrient management and early disease detection can materially improve yield and reduce input costs.
Fyllo was founded in 2019 by Sudhanshu Rai and Sumit Sheoran and is based in Bengaluru. The company reports its services being used by more than 8,000 farmers across over 50,000 acres, indicating meaningful on-the-ground adoption. Its approach reflects a broader shift in Indian agritech toward data-driven, climate-resilient farming supported by affordable sensing hardware and accessible mobile software.
In May 2024, Fyllo raised $4M in a round led by IndiaQuotient and SIDBI Ventures, with participation from existing investors including Triveni Trusts, the Indian Angel Network (IAN), and KIAORA. The company said it would use the funds to expand into new geographies and crops and to enhance its precision agriculture products, deepening both its hardware and AI-driven advisory capabilities.
