Shinkei Systems is a US seafood robotics company modernizing how fish are processed and brought to market. Its Poseidon technology is an AI-driven, box-shaped device installed on commercial fishing boats that humanely dispatches and processes fish within seconds of capture, using an automated implementation of the Japanese ike-jime technique. This dramatically improves freshness, flavor, and shelf life compared with conventional handling. Shinkei installs Poseidon on fishing vessels at no cost and buys back the higher-quality fish at a premium, selling them through its consumer brand Seremoni. The approach aims to reshore and modernize the US seafood supply chain while improving sustainability. Founded in 2021, the company raised a $22 million Series A in June 2025 co-led by Founders Fund and Interlagos.
