What Feedzai does
Feedzai is a financial-crime prevention company founded in 2011 by Nuno Sebastiao, Pedro Bizarro and Paulo Marques, with roots in Coimbra and Lisbon, Portugal. Its RiskOps platform uses machine learning to detect transaction fraud, monitor for money laundering and score risk in real time. Feedzai IQ adds network intelligence, and its IQ Score API delivers risk decisioning to banks and payment service providers.
Scale and impact
The company says its platform protects around a billion consumers and screens trillions of dollars in payments each year, claiming materially higher detection rates and fewer false positives than legacy systems. It was selected to help fight fraud in the European Central Bank's digital-euro work and integrates with players like Mastercard, Fiserv and Jack Henry.
Funding
Feedzai has raised roughly USD 347M across seven rounds. A USD 200M KKR-led Series D in 2021 made it a unicorn, and a USD 75M Series E in October 2025 valued it around USD 2B. The product is enterprise-only with custom pricing.
