Brilliant Labs is a Singapore-based hardware startup building open-source AI-powered eyewear that fuses augmented reality with on-device artificial intelligence. Its first product, Frame, launched in early 2024 as a lightweight multimodal AI glasses platform for developers and tinkerers, with backing from Niantic CEO John Hanke. In 2025 the company unveiled its second-generation Halo glasses, a $349 device featuring a color microOLED display, bone-conduction speakers, an integrated AI processor, an ultra-low-power optical sensor and roughly 14-hour battery life. Halo pairs with Noa, Brilliant Labs' AI agent, which holds realtime multimodal conversations about anything the wearer sees, hears or imagines and remembers interactions to grow more personalized over time. By keeping the platform open-source and developer-friendly, Brilliant Labs positions itself as a tinkerer-first alternative to closed smart-glasses ecosystems from Meta and Apple. The company has raised seed and angel financing to fund hardware development and scaling.
