About this event

CVPR, the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, is the worlds top venue for computer vision research and one of the most influential conferences in all of computer science. Founded in 1983 and co-sponsored by IEEE and the Computer Vision Foundation, CVPR is where landmark works on convolutional networks, vision transformers, NeRF, diffusion-based image generation, and 3D scene reconstruction were first published. The 2026 edition runs June 3-7 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, marking a return to the United States after recent stops in Seattle and Nashville.

Expect five days of single-track plenaries, parallel orals, and a massive poster floor that fills the convention center. CVPR routinely receives more than 13,000 submissions and accepts roughly 25 percent, making accepted papers a strong career signal for graduate students and industry researchers alike. The expo hall features frontier labs, autonomous-vehicle companies, robotics startups, and the major cloud and chip vendors. Tutorials and 100-plus workshops bracket the main program, covering everything from medical imaging to 3D Gaussian splatting to embodied AI.

The attendee mix includes academic researchers, industry scientists from Meta, Google, Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, and Waymo, plus a growing population of robotics and AV engineers using vision as their primary sensing modality. Recruiting at CVPR is intense, and the conference doubles as the annual reunion of the global vision community. For anyone shipping perception systems or pushing the state of the art in visual AI, CVPR is the calendar anchor of the year.
