What Sponge does
Sponge is financial infrastructure for the agent economy, providing the payment rails that let autonomous AI agents hold funds, spend money and get paid without a human entering a credit card. It is built so an agent can fund a wallet once and then transact on its own for the services it needs.
Key capabilities
Sponge offers a Wallet that lets agents sign up for and pay for services autonomously, and a Gateway that lets businesses sell to agents by uploading their API spec so agents can onboard and pay for usage without code changes. Agents can transact via credit cards, bank accounts and crypto, with multi-chain support across networks including Base, Solana and Tempo. The company describes use cases such as agents autonomously purchasing email, browser-use and premium data services.
