Overstory provides AI-powered vegetation intelligence that helps electric utilities prevent wildfires and power outages. By combining high-resolution satellite imagery with machine learning, the platform assesses vegetation encroachment across entire utility service territories, pinpointing and prioritizing the spans where trees threaten power lines. Utilities use Overstory to make vegetation management proactive and data-driven, optimizing trimming budgets, improving grid reliability, and reducing wildfire ignition risk. Founded in Amsterdam by data scientists Indra den Bakker and Anniek Schouten, the company now also runs US operations from Boston and serves utilities across multiple continents. In its November 2025 Series B, Overstory raised $43 million led by Blume Equity with Energy Impact Partners and existing investors, bringing total funding to roughly $68 million.
