Nametag verifies human identity at the moments attackers target most: helpdesk contacts, self-service account recovery and MFA reset, and remote employee onboarding. Its Deepfake Defense engine combines three techniques the company developed: Cryptographic Attestation, which uses cryptographically signed digital signatures so injected or synthetic data can be rejected at the source; Adaptive Document Verification, which adjusts in real time to improve detection of forged or altered IDs; and Spatial Selfie, which uses advanced smartphone camera hardware for spatial liveness detection that is harder to defeat with a deepfake. Verifications are reusable, require no app download, and survive a user changing or losing their phone. Nametag is led by CEO Aaron Painter, who spent 14 years at Microsoft, and CTO Ross Kinder, previously Distinguished Engineer and Deputy CTO at Secureworks. Customers listed by the company include Reddit, HubSpot and Autodesk, and investors include Village Global.
