What Instrumental Does
Instrumental is a manufacturing AI and data platform for complex electronics production. It captures visual inspection, test and process signals across builds, lines and factories, then uses AI to discover unknown failure modes, identify root causes and deploy production controls that intercept defects before they ship. The platform gives engineers a single system of record to accelerate failure analysis, reportedly saving up to 90% of the time spent on each investigation.
Customers and Backing
Founded in 2015 by ex-Apple product design engineers Anna-Katrina Shedletsky and Samuel Weiss, Instrumental is used by manufacturers including Meta, NVIDIA, Toast and L3Harris, with Meta reporting 900+ engineering weeks saved across programs and NVIDIA accelerating final system builds by up to 14 days. The company partners with NVIDIA Metropolis for automated defect detection and closed a Series D with NVIDIA's NVentures, building on more than $80M raised across prior rounds.
