What Greptile does
Greptile is an AI code review agent that reviews pull requests with complete context of the entire codebase, not just the diff. Unlike copilots focused on writing new code, Greptile zeroes in on the bigger developer problem: reading, understanding, and reviewing existing code at scale. The agent indexes a repository, learns its conventions, and produces line-level review comments that catch bugs, anti-patterns, and architectural inconsistencies that humans (and other AI reviewers) miss.
The product integrates natively with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, automatically reviewing every pull request, asking for changes, suggesting fixes, and even running follow-up checks after a developer pushes new commits. Customers report dramatic reductions in review turnaround time and fewer regressions slipping into main branches.
Who it's for
Greptile is built for engineering organizations from 20-person startups to large enterprises that want to scale code review without scaling senior-engineer headcount. It is popular with platform and infrastructure teams that maintain large monorepos, and with regulated industries that need rigorous, auditable review.
Pricing
Greptile offers per-developer monthly pricing with a free trial, plus enterprise plans with SSO, on-premise indexing, and custom retention.
Team & funding
Greptile was founded in 2023 by Daksh Gupta (CEO), Soohoon Choi, and Vaishant Kameswaran, all Georgia Tech alumni. The company went through Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and raised an initial $4M seed led by Initialized Capital, followed by a $25M Series A in September 2025 led by Benchmark Capital at a reported $180M valuation, with Benchmark partner Eric Vishria joining the board. Cory Levy, Y Combinator, and Initialized Capital also participated.
Position vs competitors
Greptile competes with CodeRabbit, Qodo (formerly CodiumAI), GitHub Copilot Code Review, and Bito. Its bet is that reviewing existing code with whole-repository context is a sharper, more defensible wedge than yet another code-generation copilot.
