About Gradium

Gradium is a Paris-based voice AI company spun out of French research lab Kyutai (the AI lab backed by Iliad billionaire Xavier Niel). The team is building production-grade speech-to-text and text-to-speech models with ultra-low latency, designed to act as the 'voice layer' for AI agents, contact centers and consumer applications. Initial release covers English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German.

The founding team is unusually deep for a brand-new company: CEO Neil Zeghidour and CSO Alexandre Défossez came from Google DeepMind and Meta FAIR respectively and led most of Kyutai's voice research, including the Moshi project. CTO Olivier Teboul (ex-Google Brain) and Chief Coding Officer Laurent Mazaré (ex-DeepMind, Jane Street) round out the team.

In December 2025 Gradium emerged from stealth with a $70M seed round co-led by FirstMark Capital and Eurazeo, with participation from Xavier Niel, DST Global Partners, Eric Schmidt, Korelya Capital, Amplify Partners, and angels including Yann LeCun, Olivier Pomel (Datadog), Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face), Ilkka Paananen (Supercell) and Guillermo Rauch (Vercel).
