Europe's AI fitness pioneer
Freeletics was founded in Munich in 2013 and grew into one of Europe's largest fitness platforms, with more than 60 million users, 450 million completed training sessions, and 400,000+ five-star reviews. Its core product is an adaptive AI Coach that builds hyper-personalized training plans from over 700 exercises — the company claims 4 trillion possible workout combinations.
Training that adapts to your life
Users tell the Coach their goals, schedule, available days, and whether they train at home, in a gym, or outdoors; the AI then generates sessions spanning HIIT, calisthenics, weights, cardio, running, and interval training, adjusting difficulty from post-workout feedback. Because most workouts need little or no equipment, Freeletics became famous for bodyweight training that fits into busy lives. The app also layers in mindset audio coaching for habits, motivation, and recovery.
Funding
Freeletics raised $45M in a late-2018 Series A followed by a $25M Series B in September 2020 led by JAZZ Venture Partners and Causeway Media Partners with support from KKCG, bringing total funding to about $70M — one of the larger bets on AI-personalized consumer fitness in Europe.
