ClaimSorted was founded in 2024 by Pavel Gertsberg and German Mikulski after they ran their own insurance business and grew frustrated with the slow, opaque, and expensive service delivered by legacy third-party administrators. Rather than bolt AI onto an existing claims shop, they built an AI-native TPA from scratch, designed so that software agents and human adjusters work as a single coordinated team on every file. The result is a digital claims operation that promises a genuinely better experience for policyholders while structurally lowering the cost of handling claims for insurers.
The platform sits across the full claims lifecycle. AI agents automate document triage, data extraction from PDFs and emails, coverage checks, repetitive correspondence, and routine status updates, while human adjusters focus on judgment-heavy decisions, complex negotiations, and empathy-driven policyholder contact. Because the agents are embedded directly in the claims workflow rather than sitting in a separate tool, the company reports settling claims roughly three times faster than the industry norm, with measurable reductions in indemnity leakage and operating expense.
ClaimSorted operates as an outsourced claims function that insurers, MGAs, and insurance programs can plug into without rebuilding their own back office. It has partnered with more than 20 insurers across the US, UK, and EU and serves tens of thousands of policyholders. The model is especially attractive to digital-first carriers and embedded insurance programs that need scalable, modern claims handling without the overhead of building it in-house.
In October 2025, ClaimSorted raised a $13.3 million seed round — one of the largest insurtech seed rounds on record — led by Atomico, with participation from Eurazeo, Y Combinator, firstminute capital, Start Ventures Capital, and a network of prominent insurance veterans. The capital is funding expansion of its AI agent suite, geographic growth, and additional insurer partnerships as the company scales its claims-as-a-service offering.
