The Verified Profile

What "verified" means

Verification confirms that a real person at the company has acknowledged the NeuronFeed listing exists, reviewed its data, and agreed to keep it accurate. It does not endorse the product, validate funding claims, or imply NeuronFeed has a commercial relationship with the startup. We are an independent directory; verification is a transparency signal about the listing itself, not the underlying business.

Specifically, a verified profile guarantees:

• An owner exists. A logged-in user with an email at the company's verified domain has claimed it.
• Data is acknowledged. The owner has reviewed and signed off on the listed funding, headcount, founders, and product description.
• Edits are reviewable. Any future change to the profile is logged and attributable to the verified owner.

How to verify in 2 minutes

1. Find your listing at neuronfeed.com/startups/<your-slug> or via search. If it doesn't exist yet, submit it first.
2. Click "Claim this profile" in the sidebar. Sign in or create a NeuronFeed account.
3. Confirm domain ownership by clicking the link we email to founders@<your-company>, team@, or any verified domain address. We accept any address ending in your company's primary domain.
4. Review your data on the claim screen. Edit anything that's wrong. Click Submit.
5. Done. The checkmark appears within 60 seconds. You can edit anytime after.

What disqualifies verification

• Email from a personal account (gmail, outlook, yahoo) — must be the company domain
• The listing names a different company than the email domain (e.g. claiming Acme AI from @beta-corp.com)
• The company is closed/acquired and no current owner is responding (we mark these "Closed" rather than verified)
• Repeated edits that contradict primary sources we trust (SEC filings, official press releases, audited investor announcements)

For investors and journalists

The verified checkmark is a soft signal that the listed founder/exec contacts are reachable and the basic facts have been acknowledged. It does not verify funding amounts (those come from primary filings) or product claims (those come from independent research). FAQ

Can I verify a competitor's profile?

No. Verification requires a working email at that company's domain and a claim acknowledgment from someone who can speak for the company. We rate-limit and review claims to prevent bad-faith verification attempts.

Can I unverify or delete my profile?

Verified founders can request unverification or full removal at any time via the contact form. Removal under privacy law (GDPR, CCPA) is honored within 30 days.

Does verification cost money?

No. Verification is free and there's no path to pay for the checkmark. We do offer optional paid promotion placements, which are clearly labeled and never affect rankings or scores. See our editorial standards for our independence policy.

Why do some profiles already have data without being verified?

NeuronFeed is a directory. We track public AI startups whether or not founders engage with us — our editorial team builds initial profiles from public sources (press, SEC filings, official blogs). Verification just confirms that someone at the company has signed off on the data.
