Editorial Standards
Last updated 2026-05-05
NeuronFeed publishes verified AI startup data, original funding analysis, and curated news. These standards govern how we decide what to publish, how we source data, and how we correct mistakes. They apply equally to staff editorial, automated pipelines, and AI-assisted content.
1. Sourcing
Funding rounds, headcount, valuations, and product details come from primary sources where possible: company press releases, SEC filings, government registries (Companies House, OpenCorporates), official investor announcements, and verified social posts from founders or executives.
News articles in /news are aggregated from public RSS feeds and editorial sources. Each article retains its original source link and byline. We do not republish full article bodies — only headlines, excerpts, and attribution-preserving summaries linking back to the original publisher.
2. Verification
Before a startup, funding round, or investor profile is published, our pipeline cross-references at least one of:
- The official company website
- An investor's portfolio page
- SEC Form D filings or equivalent regulatory filings
- Established trade publications (TechCrunch, Bloomberg, Reuters, FT, The Information)
Single-source claims are flagged in the entry and may be unpublished pending corroboration. Profiles backed only by social-media posts are explicitly labeled as unverified.
3. Data accuracy
Funding totals, valuations, and headcount figures are point-in-time estimates and can change. We display the announcement date alongside every figure. When a prior round is restated by the company, we update both the row and the derived totals; we do not silently rewrite history.
4. AI assistance & disclosure
NeuronFeed uses large language models for several editorial tasks: extracting structured data from press releases, generating short tags and summaries, and drafting weekly digest intros. Every AI-assisted output passes through a deterministic post-processing layer that strips chain-of-thought artifacts, validates against the source data, and falls back to a hand-written template if the output fails validation. Long-form market reports in /intelligence are human-authored and labeled with their author byline; AI is used only for research support and copy editing.
5. Independence & conflicts of interest
NeuronFeed is independently operated by Ali Akbar Fakhri (see About) and is not owned by any venture firm, accelerator, portfolio company, or media holding. Affiliate links and sponsored placements — when present — are visually distinguished and labeled "Sponsored" or "Featured deal." They do not influence rankings, scores, or editorial coverage decisions.
6. Comments & user-submitted content
Reviews, comments, and startup submissions from the public are clearly labeled and moderated against a published community policy. We remove content that violates copyright, defames identifiable individuals, or constitutes spam/SEO manipulation.
7. Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our corrections policy for how to report a mistake and how we annotate fixed articles.
