Unblocked answers the hardest question in software teams: 'why is the code this way?' It ingests the knowledge scattered across GitHub, Slack, Jira, Confluence and other systems, resolves conflicts between sources, and serves that unified context to both human engineers and AI coding agents — so answers reflect not just the code, but the decisions and discussions behind it.

Context for the agent era

Beyond its Q&A assistant, Unblocked positions itself as infrastructure for AI development: an MCP server connects Cursor, Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to organizational context; a CLI and API let teams wire the context engine into internal tools. Retrieval is token-optimized and permission-aware, with automatic enforcement of source-system access controls. The company is SOC 2 Type II certified with SSO/SCIM support.

Founder and funding

Unblocked was founded in Vancouver by Dennis Pilarinos, who previously built CI platform Buddybuild (acquired by Apple in 2018) and held engineering leadership roles at Microsoft and Amazon. The company has raised $30M, including an $8.3M seed led by Amplify Partners and a $20M Series A from B Capital and Radical Ventures announced in May 2025.
