Tabs is an AI-native revenue platform built for the messy reality of B2B billing. Modern companies sell through complex contracts, subscription, usage-based, hybrid, with custom terms, discounts, and renewal schedules that traditional billing systems struggle to handle. Tabs uses AI agents to automate the full contract-to-cash lifecycle: it reads contracts, generates accurate invoices from their terms, runs collections, reconciles payments in real time, and handles revenue recognition, including ASC 606 compliance, so books close cleanly and quickly.
The core insight is that billing and revenue operations have remained stubbornly manual even as the rest of the software stack modernized. Finance teams routinely re-key contract terms into billing systems, chase payments by hand, and wrestle spreadsheets into revenue schedules. By starting from the contract as the source of truth and letting agents propagate terms through billing, collections, and rev-rec, Tabs aims to eliminate that manual reconciliation and shorten the close.
Founded in 2023 and headquartered in New York, Tabs is led by co-founder and CEO Ali Hussain. The company progressed quickly from a $7 million seed to a $55 million Series B in roughly 17 months, growing from dozens to more than 200 customers and from pilot automations to billion-dollar invoice volumes. High-growth companies including Cursor and Statsig rely on Tabs to turn contracts into invoices and automate compliance.
The $55 million Series B was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from General Catalyst, Primary Venture Partners, and WiL (World Innovation Lab), bringing total funding to more than $91 million. The round was explicitly framed around bringing AI agents into the CFO's office, with new agents for billing and collections. As usage-based and hybrid pricing proliferate, especially among AI and infrastructure companies, the complexity of getting billing and revenue recognition right has grown sharply, and Tabs is positioning its agentic platform as the system that keeps revenue operations accurate at scale.
