Superhuman is a premium, AI-powered email client originally built to make high-volume email dramatically faster, especially for executives, founders, salespeople, and other power users. Known for its speed-obsessed design, keyboard-shortcut-driven workflow, and polished interface, it layers productivity features such as split inbox, snippets, scheduled send, follow-up reminders, read statuses, and instant search on top of Gmail and Outlook accounts.
The product has increasingly centered on AI, adding capabilities for drafting and replying in the user's own voice, scheduling, automatic categorization, and triage. Superhuman has reported that a large majority of weekly active users engage with its AI features and that users send and respond to substantially more email per hour after adopting it. The company positions email as the foundation for AI agents that triage inboxes, schedule meetings, conduct research across content, and draft full messages.
Superhuman raised more than $114 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, IVP, and Tiger Global, and was last independently valued around $825 million. In July 2025, Grammarly acquired Superhuman to accelerate its AI productivity platform, planning to build email-focused AI agents on Superhuman's technology. In October 2025, Grammarly rebranded the combined company as Superhuman and launched an AI assistant, Superhuman Go. Prospective users should note that Superhuman now operates within this larger AI productivity company rather than as a standalone startup.
