Ray Security emerged from stealth in September 2025 with what it describes as the first predictive data security platform, built specifically for the AI era. The company was founded in 2024 by Ariel Zamir (CEO), Eric Wolf (CBO), and Dekel Levkovich (CTO) to rethink data protection around prediction rather than reaction. Most data security tools react to access after it happens or rely on static classification and policies that quickly fall out of date; Ray's premise is that by understanding actual data-usage patterns, security controls can be applied proactively, before sensitive data is exposed.

The platform continuously monitors how users, applications, and AI agents access information across cloud and on-premises environments. Using predictive analytics, it anticipates what data will be required next and applies appropriate protection in real time, aiming to keep least-privilege controls aligned with how data is genuinely used rather than with stale, manually defined rules. A unified console lets teams manage access policies for users, applications, and AI agents in one place.

A major focus is the risk posed by autonomous AI. Ray detects shadow AI, unauthorized AI tools and agents accessing company data outside normal visibility, and surfaces what LLMs, copilots, and agents are touching across the organization. As enterprises rapidly adopt AI systems that may reach sensitive data without anyone realizing it, this visibility is increasingly critical. Ray then automates remediation to prevent breaches before they occur, and the company claims its approach can cut data exposure by over 90% in AI-driven environments.

Ray Security raised an $11 million seed round co-led by Venture Guides and Ibex Investors. While early stage, the company's predictive, AI-agent-aware approach addresses a clear and growing gap: securing enterprise data as autonomous AI dramatically expands who and what can access it. Use cases span shadow AI identification, AI data exposure control, data loss prevention for AI systems, and access auditing and investigation.
