Parallel Web Systems is building web infrastructure for AI agents. Where traditional search engines are optimized for human eyes, Parallel exposes APIs that return structured, cross-referenced, citation-backed answers tuned for autonomous agents and LLM applications that need reliable factual grounding.
The product line includes a Search API for fast agent-grade retrieval, a Task API for multi-hop deep research and structured data extraction, and Find All for building web datasets. Outputs emphasize minimal hallucination through cross-referenced facts, with citations, reasoning traces and confidence scores, and a pay-per-query pricing model with tiered compute budgets (Lite through Ultra).
Parallel was founded by Parag Agrawal, former CEO of Twitter, and is based in San Francisco. Named customers include Clay, Harvey, Notion and Opendoor, which use Parallel to power agents for software development, sales analysis and underwriting research.
The company raised an early $30M round in January 2024, then a $100M Series A in late 2025 co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Index Ventures with Khosla Ventures, Spark Capital, First Round Capital and Terrain. In April 2026 it raised a $100M Series B led by Sequoia at a $2B valuation, just five months after the Series A.
With SOC 2 Type 2 certification and MCP support, Parallel positions itself as the dedicated retrieval and research layer of the agentic web.
