Nominal, founded in 2022 by engineers and operators from Anduril, Lockheed Martin and Palantir, replaces spreadsheets and bespoke Python harnesses with a unified platform for hardware test and operations. It ships two production products: Nominal Core, a secure cloud workbench for managing, monitoring and analyzing high-rate sensor data, logs, video and procedures in a time-aligned view; and Nominal Connect, an edge platform for building custom hardware-in-the-loop applications and running automation code connected to physical assets or test stands. The platform automates data capture, flags edge-case failures and feeds results into operations from wind tunnels, flight lines and field environments. As of its 2026 raise the company reported more than 60 global customers across aerospace, defense, energy and advanced manufacturing, and offices in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and London.
