Kodesage is a London- and Budapest-based startup modernizing legacy enterprise software with AI that runs entirely on-premise, never leaving the customer's environment—a critical requirement for the banks and insurers whose core systems still run on COBOL and Oracle Forms. The platform performs automated deep discovery of these codebases, extracts the buried business logic, and turns it into a living documentation layer that both human teams and AI agents can read. From there it supports context-aware code conversion, automated test generation, and AI-assisted production support. Founded in 2024 by Gergely Dombi, Miklos Szurdi, and Gyorgy Szilagyi, Kodesage raised a $6.6M (about €5.67M) seed round led by VentureFriends in June 2026, with pre-seed lead Portfolion returning and angels including xAI co-founder Christian Szegedy and 2014 World Cup hero Mario Götze. The funding supports a U.S. and Europe go-to-market push.
