Hauler Hero is a software company building what it calls the first AI-powered operating system for the waste management industry. Waste hauling is a large, essential, and surprisingly under-digitized business: haulers manage complex routing, residential and commercial accounts, roll-off containers, and government contracts, often on aging or fragmented software, while operating on notoriously thin margins where small efficiency gains translate into meaningful profit.
The platform brings the core functions of a hauling business into one cloud system: customer relationship management, dispatch, route optimization, a mobile app for drivers, billing and invoicing, a customer portal, and real-time reporting and analytics. By consolidating these functions, Hauler Hero reduces the manual coordination and double entry that slow down billing and customer service in a typical hauler's back office.
Hauler Hero is layering AI on top of this foundation with features it brands as Hero Vision, Hero Chat, and Hero Routing, aimed at automating routing decisions, customer interactions, and operational tasks. The company markets concrete operational outcomes from its platform, including 19 percent faster cash collection, 15 percent lower customer churn, 15 percent fewer customer calls, and significant time savings per office employee, the kinds of margin improvements that matter most in a low-margin industry.
The company has raised more than $27 million in venture capital. After announcing a seed round in late 2024, it raised a $16 million Series A led by Frontier Growth with participation from K5 Global and Somersault Ventures. Hauler Hero says it has doubled its headcount, revenue, and customer base since the seed round, reflecting rapid early traction in a $55 billion North American waste market.
By focusing exclusively on waste haulers and combining a modern operations platform with an emerging AI layer, Hauler Hero is positioning itself as the category-defining software for an industry that has lacked a modern, AI-native operating system.
