Definely is a London-based AI legal tech company that makes contract drafting and review faster and more accurate by embedding AI directly into the lawyer's workflow inside Microsoft Word. Its tools let lawyers instantly surface defined terms, cross-references and related clauses without losing their place, and apply AI to review and improve contract language. Founded in 2020 by Nnamdi Emelifeonwu and Feargus MacDaeid, who worked together at Freshfields, Definely was built with accessibility at its core; co-founder MacDaeid is registered blind. In June 2025 the company raised a $30M Series B led by growth investor Revaia, with Alumni Ventures, Beacon Capital and legal tech company Clio (Clio Ventures), alongside earlier backers Octopus Ventures, Zrosk Investment Management, The Raine Group and Cornerstone VC, bringing total funding to $40M. The capital fuels global expansion and its AI product roadmap.
