Akido Labs is a healthcare technology company rebuilding primary and specialty care around AI. Its flagship product, ScopeAI, is a clinical reasoning engine that augments physicians at the point of care, helping providers extend their reach into the underserved communities most affected by the global physician shortage. The company operates real clinics under the Akido Care brand, giving it a closed loop between AI development and frontline medicine.
With over 10 million patient case studies in its proprietary dataset, Akido trains models on actual clinical decisions rather than synthetic benchmarks. Inside the exam room, ScopeAI gathers patient history, surfaces likely diagnoses, drafts treatment plans, and produces documentation that the supervising physician reviews and signs off on. This lets a single doctor safely oversee a much larger care team of advanced practice providers, dramatically expanding capacity without sacrificing quality. The platform integrates with EHRs, supports multilingual encounters, and is purpose-built for high-volume community health settings.
Akido has raised roughly $95.6M across seed through Series B, including a $60M Series B in May 2025 led by Oak HC/FT with participation from Y Combinator, Google DeepMind's Jeff Dean, Future Communities Capital, and the Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center. The roughly 1,000-person team, led by co-founder and CEO Prashant Samant, runs clinics in California and is expanding the ScopeAI deployment to additional health systems in 2026.
