What Agno does
Agno is a high-performance, open-source Python framework for building AI agents and agent teams with memory, knowledge, tools, and reasoning. It pairs the framework with AgentOS, an enterprise-ready agentic runtime that lets teams deploy and operate multi-agent systems inside their own cloud (AWS, GCP, Railway, or air-gapped environments). Agno supports 30+ model providers behind a unified interface and works with agents built using Agno, the Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, DSPy, and custom systems.
Runtime and governance
AgentOS exposes 50+ API endpoints for runs, sessions, memory, knowledge, and traces, plus a web console for monitoring and management. It includes governance features such as audit logs, approval workflows, and RBAC, making it suitable for production deployments where data must stay in the customer's environment. Formerly known as Phidata and rebranded to Agno in January 2025, the New York-based company has raised about $5.4M in seed funding, and its open-source framework has surpassed 40,000 GitHub stars.
