Before Mistral he spent nearly three years at DeepMind Paris working on large language models and multimodal systems including contributions to Flamingo and Gemini. He graduated from the École Polytechnique and the École Normale Supérieure and holds a PhD from Université Paris-Saclay. Mistral has raised over $640M and was included in TIME100 innovators in 2024.
