Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Z Flip 8 will ship with Gemini Notebook pre-installed, Google announced at Galaxy Unpacked.
The AI research tool, formerly known as NotebookLM, lets users organize sources from the web, videos, and chats into a single information repository. It can transform this content into slide decks, videos, flash cards, and podcasts.
Google is expanding its AI task automation feature from a handful of apps to 40 supported applications. The automation will handle shopping, dinner reservations, travel bookings, and ticket purchases on behalf of users.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 owners can access task automation directly from the Flex Window by long-pressing the power button. Gemini can now process complex images as prompts and understand on-screen content.
Samsung is bundling six months of Google AI Pro with every Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 device. Some Gemini Notebook features require the paid subscription.
Android migration gets simpler
Google introduced a native migration experience built into Android 17 that eliminates the need for separate apps when switching from iPhone. The system transfers photos, videos, contacts, messages, calendar data, passwords, WiFi credentials, and eSIM information.
The feature has started rolling out to select Pixel models and will launch on Samsung's new foldables.
Galaxy Watch 9 users can activate Gemini by raising their wrist and asking questions directly. Google and Samsung also revealed two additional frame designs for their Android XR smart glasses, which launch this fall.
The partnership extends Google's AI integration across Samsung's hardware ecosystem, positioning Gemini as the default assistant for the company's premium devices.
