PromptQL closed a funding round to scale its AI-native workspace that replaces traditional team messaging with multiplayer AI threads, the company announced on Product Hunt.

The startup, founded by Hasura's leadership team including CEO Tanmai Gopal, built what it calls the "world's first AI native workspace" after accidentally discovering the concept while trying to improve AI accuracy with data and tools.

From Internal Tool to Product

PromptQL emerged from Hasura's internal experimentation in February 2026. The 70-person team moved entirely off Slack to test the multiplayer AI experience, leading to what Gopal described as "team-wide AI psychosis" from having a single shared AI connected to everyone and everything.

The platform creates shared AI threads where team members can tag colleagues to review, correct, and refine AI-generated answers without losing the underlying reasoning. It connects to databases, SaaS applications, coding agents, and events to build what the company calls a "self-building wiki" of business operations.

"When I ask 'What's Alex working on?', it's able to look at Alex's work in the workspace and across other tools like Slack or GitHub and gives me a sense of what's happening, what he's blocked on and how I can help him," Gopal explained.

Agentic Architecture

PromptQL builds task-specific agents dynamically as users communicate. The system learns skills from team interactions and maintains scoped, multi-user permissions to keep context accessible to appropriate team members.

The platform gained particular momentum following OpenAI's GPT-5.6 release, which Gopal said enabled users to execute "complex, high-rigour tasks that used to need a frontier Claude model, at about half the price."

"With shared product context already in PromptQL, users can hand off non-trivial features for fully hands-off implementation, review, and testing," he noted.

PromptQL ranked #2 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard and competes with knowledge management platforms like Slite and Notion. The company plans to expand beyond its current team collaboration focus as AI capabilities continue advancing.
