OpenAI launched Health in ChatGPT, allowing eligible U.S. users to securely connect their medical records and Apple Health data for personalized health insights.

The feature enables users to upload medical documents, lab results, and health data directly into ChatGPT conversations. Users can ask questions about their health information and receive tailored responses based on their specific medical history.

Health in ChatGPT integrates with Apple Health to pull in fitness tracking data, vital signs, and other health metrics. The system can analyze trends across multiple data sources to provide more comprehensive health guidance.

OpenAI said the feature uses enterprise-grade security measures to protect sensitive health information. Medical data is encrypted and processed according to HIPAA compliance standards, with users maintaining full control over what information they share.

The rollout begins with a limited group of ChatGPT Plus subscribers in the United States. OpenAI plans to expand availability to more users and regions over the coming months, pending regulatory approvals.

Users can connect multiple healthcare providers and wearable devices through the platform. The system supports common medical record formats and integrates with major electronic health record systems used by hospitals and clinics.
