June emerged from stealth with $20 million in pre-seed funding to tackle what it calls the "AI deployment problem" — the gap between AI promise and practical enterprise implementation.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff led the round, though the company has not disclosed other investors or its current valuation.

The startup argues that while AI models have advanced rapidly, most enterprises struggle to deploy them effectively in production environments. June's platform aims to bridge this gap by automating the complex infrastructure and integration work typically required for AI rollouts.

"Every company wants to use AI, but most don't know how to actually implement it at scale," said June's founding team in a statement. The company declined to name its founders or provide specific product details ahead of a formal launch planned for later this year.

June joins a crowded field of AI infrastructure companies trying to solve deployment challenges. Competitors include Anyscale, which focuses on distributed AI training, and Modal, which offers serverless AI infrastructure.

The pre-seed round is unusually large for such an early-stage company. Most pre-seed rounds in AI infrastructure range from $3-8 million, according to PitchBook data.

Benioff's involvement signals growing interest from enterprise software veterans in AI deployment tools. The Salesforce chief has been an active investor in AI startups, previously backing companies like Anthropic and several enterprise AI application builders.

June plans to use the funding to build its core platform and hire engineering talent. The company is targeting a public beta launch in Q4 2026, with general availability expected in early 2027.

The startup faces the challenge of proving its approach works better than existing solutions from cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, all of which offer AI deployment services.
