Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.7, its latest flagship model that delivers stronger performance across coding, agents, vision, and multi-step tasks.
The new model brings greater thoroughness and consistency to complex work, according to the company. Opus 4.7 represents the next iteration of Anthropic's most capable model in the Claude family.
Enhanced capabilities across key domains
The updated model shows particular improvements in coding tasks, autonomous agent behavior, and visual processing. Multi-step reasoning tasks also benefit from enhanced consistency and thoroughness.
Anthropic positioned the release as focused on "the work that matters most" to users, suggesting enterprise and professional use cases drove the development priorities.
The company simultaneously launched Claude Design, a new product from Anthropic Labs that enables collaborative visual work creation. Users can work with Claude to produce designs, prototypes, presentations, and other visual materials.
Broader AI safety initiatives
The model release comes alongside Anthropic's participation in Project Glasswing, a multi-industry initiative focused on securing critical software infrastructure. Partners include Amazon Web Services, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.
Anthropic also published findings from what it calls the largest qualitative AI study conducted, surveying 81,000 Claude users about their AI usage patterns, aspirations, and concerns.
The company recently reaffirmed its commitment to keeping Claude ad-free, citing incompatibility between advertising incentives and genuinely helpful AI assistance.
Strategic partnerships expand
Anthropic announced expanded collaborations with Amazon for up to 5 gigawatts of new compute capacity and a partnership with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of next-generation compute infrastructure.
The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Australian government for AI safety and research collaboration, while opening a Sydney office under new General Manager Theo Hourmouzis.
Claude Opus 4.7 is available now through Anthropic's platform, continuing the company's focus on safety-oriented AI development.
