Anthropic released Claude Design, a visual creation tool that enables users to collaborate with Claude to produce designs, prototypes, slides, and marketing materials.
The product launches in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. Claude Design is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic's most capable vision model.
Users can start projects from text prompts, uploaded documents, or by importing elements from existing codebases and websites. The tool automatically applies team design systems by reading codebases and design files during onboarding.
Key capabilities and use cases
Teams are using Claude Design for interactive prototypes, product wireframes, design explorations, pitch decks, and marketing collateral. The tool can also create "frontier design" prototypes incorporating voice, video, shaders, and 3D elements.
Users refine designs through inline comments, direct text editing, or custom adjustment controls. Claude can apply changes across entire designs based on specific feedback.
The platform includes organization-scoped sharing with private, view-only, or collaborative edit permissions. Teams can export work to Canva, PDF, PowerPoint, or standalone HTML files.
Enterprise integration and handoffs
Claude Design integrates with Claude Code for development handoffs. When designs are ready for implementation, the tool packages everything into a bundle that developers can use with a single instruction.
For Enterprise customers, the feature is disabled by default and requires admin activation in organization settings. Access uses existing subscription limits with optional extra usage available.
Canva, Brilliant, and Datadog provided early feedback on the tool. Brilliant reported reducing complex prototyping from 20+ prompts in other tools to just 2 prompts in Claude Design.
The tool is available at claude.ai/design for eligible subscribers. Anthropic plans to expand integrations with additional design and development tools in coming weeks.
