Frequently asked questions

How does Guess the Funding work?

Each of the 10 rounds shows a real AI startup — its logo, category, country, founding year, and tagline — along with four funding amounts. You pick the one you think is correct. The answer is revealed immediately, along with a link to the company profile.

Are the funding amounts real?

Yes. The correct answer is the startup's total disclosed funding as recorded in the NeuronFeed database. Rounds announced without a dollar figure are not counted, so the number reflects publicly disclosed capital only — it can be lower than what a company has actually raised.

Why are the wrong answers so close to the real one?

The three decoys are generated by scaling the correct amount up and down, then rounding to two significant figures. That keeps all four options in a believable range, so you cannot win by eliminating the option that looks absurd.

Which startups can show up in the game?

Any published startup in the directory with at least $2M in disclosed funding. Ten are drawn at random each time you play, spanning early-stage companies through the largest AI raises, so the difficulty varies between games.

Is the game free?

Yes — free, no signup, and no limit on how many times you can play. Hit Restart or Play again for a fresh set of ten startups.

Where can I see a startup's full funding history?

After each answer, the result line links to that company's directory profile, which lists its individual rounds, investors, category, and headquarters. The funding tracker covers the same data across the whole directory if you want to browse rounds by date or size.
